What is it about?
The third-century BCE translation of the Old Testament into Greek was produced in Alexandria, Egypt, where the speakers of the Greek language were either bilingual with Egyptian, or in contact with speakers of this language. This paper attempts at identifying the effect of language contact in this translation, mainly through an analysis of the lexicon.
