Grandparents adopt different strategies to address delinquent behavior displayed by their grandchildren in South Africa.

Why is it important?
It is important because grandparents even at their old ages seem to be entrusted with the responsibility of secondary parenting of their grandchildren. It also raises a plight of juvenile delinquency that negatively affects socio-economic development grandparents.
Perspectives
Writing this article strengthened our work with the communities of Hillcrest particularly elderly people that are secondary parenting as well as children that seem to display unwarranted behaviour and find themselves on the wrong side of the law.
