What is it about?

Aphelenchoides koreanus n. sp. isolated in Ningbo Port, China, from Pinus packaging wood from Korea is described. It is characterised by PUS is well developed and forms ca 30.6-41.9% of the vulva to anus distance, tail sub-cylindrical, terminus bluntly rounded or slightly pointed, often bearing a very short mucron, about 1 µm long. Males absent. The new species belongs to the Group 1 category of Aphelenchoides species sensu Shahina. Phylogenetic analysis based on ITS sequences confirmed its status as a new species.
