What is it about?
In the present work, we identified the nematode distributed widely in Japan as Steinernema tielingense based on its molecular profiles. Though molecular profiles of Japanese population are identical to those of originally described Chinese population, there are distinct morphological differences between both populations. To identify Japanese population as S. tielingense, we described details of morphological characters of Japanese population along with molecular profiles. In this work we identified the symbiotic bacterium of S. tielingense as Xenorhabdus bovienii at the first time.
