The complete mitochondrial genome of the freshwater crab Longpotamon kenliense (Decapoda, Brachyura, Potamidae) with phylogenetic consideration

What is it about?

The authors first reported the complete sequence of the mitochondrial genome of Longpotamon kenliense. The authors used the 13 protein-coding genes from the mitochondrial genomes of L. kenliense and 67 other Brachyura species available from the NCBI to estimate divergence times.The results indicated that the genera Sinopotamon and Longpotamon are closely related and that the genus Sinopotamon has a longer history, which may have been caused by geologic events.
