What is it about?
Young animals must learn how to interact with others as they grow older. Juveniles of social species often need to 'practice' interacting with others as they develop socially in order to develop appropriate adult social behavior. Here we use the popular aquarium fish Bronze Cory catfish to explore how a unique social interaction style, tactile interactions, requires social experience during development for individuals to exhibit proper adult social behavior. This demonstrates the similarities in development between seemingly disparate animals.
