What is it about?

Scholars debate the historical breakdown of the twelve tribes of Israel between the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. The question of the history of the tribe of Benjamin is especially hard to pin down and especially important. I argue that various aspects of the presentation of Benjamin's history in the books of Kings reveal both its primary affiliation with the kingdom of Israel, as opposed to Judah, and diverse efforts to obscure this fact.
