What is it about?
Contrary to many prior interpretations in the history of biblical scholarship, Genesis 3:21 does not refer to God's slaughter of animals when providing clothing for the first human couple. Instead, when viewed alongside a comparable passage in the Babylonian creation epic (Enuma Elish tablet IV), as well as other biblical and extrabiblical data, the verse is more properly seen as relating to God's creation of the skins in question.
