What is it about?
The article analyses the different levels involved in animal experimentation. To do so, it discusses a study consisting of qualitative sociological expert interviews, the result of this study is that a Culture of Care is dependent on the decisions of actors in all levels and the given legal and organisational structures and that the ultimate goal of the concept, namely completely ending the use of sentient beings in research, is barely present in the understanding of Culture of Care in today's German research. The article, therefore, promotes breaking down old rules and structures within the field to establish a Culture of Care.
