This paper analyzes a passage in the sectarian text Damascus Document, found at Qumran, that simultaneously rewrites both a passage in the book of Proverbs and a passage in Serekh ha-Yahad, another sectarian text. It closely analyzes the relevant texts, demonstrates the influence, and considers the methodological implications of this phenomenon of one text being simultaneously deeply influenced by two unrelated prior texts.
