The Kings in 4QMMT

What is it about?

The 4QMMT document is one of the most important texts for understanding the origins of the Qumran community. The document contains several royal motives that may shed light on the identity and situation of the addressee. The authors of the document refer to the negative and positive sides of the figures of kings, especially King David. The examples from the lives of kings clearly not only serve as examples to follow, but the lives of kings are presented as a consequence of accepting or rejecting the words of the Torah.
