What is it about?
How do we explain the successes of Nigerian Diasporas in the U.S? This articles attempts to offer an explanation, including how Nigerian Diasporas are creating a Nigerian identity in the US. Nigeria is a country of many ethnic groups and struggles to create a unified nation. Yet, Nigerians in the US are one of the best accomplished diaspora groups in the US. A successful Nigerian identity has therefore being formed outside, an identity of high achievers. The explanation for this phenomenon centred on the idea of narcissistic grandiosity.

Why is it important?
It is important because it contributes to our understanding of national identity formation through culture and social interaction. It is also important because it shows what Nigeria could become if shorn of the ethno-religious and corruption that bedevils Nigeria.
Perspectives
Thus article was a pleasure to write since I thought hard and long about his to explain the high achievements of Nigerians in the US. All the explanations I encountered seemed inadequate as they fell short of a viable explanation. So, it was a fulfilling discovery to cone up with the idea of narcissistic grandiosity as explanation.
