This is an interpretation of Ajax’s life and death in the same-title Sophocles tragedy by using the notion of Agamben’s homo sacer whose killing would be performed by anyone in the community with impunity.

It is important because it is the first time that notions belonging to the contemporary political theory of Necropolitics are applied to the interpretation of Ancient Greek texts.
