What is it about?

It is about age of consent recognised by criminal legal framework for regulating adolescent sexuality. It traces the implications of increase of age of consent on the sexual autonomy of the adolescents. Defining age of consent on one hand is important to protect the interests of minors but in the other hand if it is not in concurrence with the social realities it can lead to over criminalisation thereby adversely impacting the interests of the adolescents.
