What is it about?
Orthodox pilgrims to the Holy Land bought in Jerusalem hand drawn icons as religious memorabilia. these icons depicted the sacred sites venerated by the Orthodox and the icons were taken by the pilgrims back to their home communities and thus distributed the image of the holy Land through the eyes of the Greek-Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
