What is it about?

This contribution analyses the rules that governed the soldiers’ marital unions during the period from the 3rd century a.D. to the fall of the Western Roman Empire. At the same time, it will take into account the matrimonial discipline of some Romano-Barbaric kingdoms, in particular that concerning the Visigoths, the Ostrogoths and the Burgundians.
