What is it about?

Four intersecting challenges are faced by a left trying to generate strategies for struggling against capitalism and advancing socialism. One is the considerable repertoire of practices developed across the 150-year effort of capitalism to counter struggles against it. Another is confronting, in depth, the gap created by the loss of the extensive socialist world presence it had pre-1991 (however flawed some may view it). Third, there was an unprecedented form of capitalist world order established mid-twentieth century that can be seen as a unique counterforce against the left. Finally, capitalism is more overdetermined and totalizing than ever, shaping limits and possibilities today. These challenges need to be placed at the core of left strategizing. Doing so requires a much more dialectical-strategic praxis that needs to exceed and confound the current formation. Such a praxis would draw up in combination the various uneven struggles-against capitalism worldwide. A league that is an “organization of organizations” – but is not just a forum or international – holds promise to advance those struggles at all scales, local to global.
