Nissaya is generally known to Myanmar monastic members as a word-by-word translation. This kind of Nissaya text has been used in Myanmar monastic education for many years. Therefore Nissaya plays an important role in Myanmar.

Why is it important?
Basically monastic education system has used Nissaya texts in spreading the teaching of the Buddha popularly known as Dhamma in Myanmar and other Buddhist countries such as Thailand, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Laos.
