A particularly strong historical consciousness forms an important pillar of the Putin regime, which presents itself as the legitimate successor to the victorious and legitimate political leadership of the Russian state in different periods of history. In the past decade, the Putin regime paid great attention to cultivating historical consciousness and considered this weapon to be a strategic one. However, the armory is much older than the current regime.
