What is it about?

As Jacques Berlinerblau has pointed out in his book, Secularism: The Basics, secularism is not a monolithic. This commentary notes that secularism manifests in various forms beyond the west. It argues that states are in contention with churches, mosques, shrines and temples, and try to contain religious influences and intrigues in various societies and cultures across the globe.
