What is it about?
Oakland, California, confronts a crisis of homelessness that disproportionately impacts the city's population of Black, Indigenous and other people of color. This research identifies features of Spanish colonial displacement of Native Californians as continuing factors in Oakland's contemporary crisis of housing and racial inequality.
