Why is it important?
Populism is a growing problem in many democracies in the world. Taiwan is among the democracies that have experienced populist politicians, but were less successful than in other democracies. It also explains how populism is dicussed in Taiwan, and that it is often defined in a different way than in Europe or North America.
Perspectives
I hope that article creates more interest for politics in Taiwan, and Taiwan's democracy in general.
