What is it about?
Thousands of men and women from colonial Zambia fought for Britain in the First World War. Others worked as porters and provided food. But when the war ended, Britain did not take care of these ex-servicemen. It prioritized European ex-servicemen in compensation and commemoration. For most of them, their history is lost to their descendants.
