What is it about?

Henri Vever, Champion de l’Art Nouveau consists of two sections: it contains the first full publication of Vever’s daily journal from 1898 and Silverman’s analysis not only of the text, but also of the late nineteenth century historical context in which it was written. The Henri Vever Papers, now in the collection of the Freer Gallery of Art and the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery Archives in Washington, D.C., offer researchers—and now readers—a glimpse of life among the haute bourgeosie who actively collaborated with designers and artists in creating a new and modern perception of the world.
