Given this context, the students who change their career paths to teaching focus on the stability and the reputation of becoming a teacher rather than considering their personal interests or skills as job insecurities continue grow and the economy struggles._x000D_ This study seeks to understand the similarities and differences of identity formation and development of three pre-service science teachers (PSTs). The study takes place in the top university in Korea; this contextual factor adds to the particular characteristics of how identity formation influences where PSTs work and how they develop personal or professional identities.
