What is it about?
In this paper we suggest that the spatial distribution of Salamanders in Israel can be best explained by bedrock type. We propose that bedrock determines the availability of summer estivation sites for adults Salamanders and therefore limits their distribution. We qualetatively test the ability of this newly proposed factor to explain Salamander presence and absence in the southern most edge of its distribution.
