What is it about?

This study assesses the effect of two environmental factors on the life cycle of the rotifer Euchlanis dilatata. Three different algae at two different concentrations at 20 and 25 °C induced a different response in terms on morphometric values, longevity, reproduction rate, mean generation time and Q10.

Why is it important?

This work shows how the rotifer may adopt different strategies to survive, develop and reproduce in its environment.

Perspectives

Sometimes amazing findings can be found in "simple facts". In this study we found an exception to the temperature-size rule
