What is it about?

Our review article focuses on how visual features, as a group, can affect taste perception. We explored the research on crossmodal correspondences between vision and taste, which has grown rapidly in recent years. We also investigated how presenting multiple visual features can modify taste expectations and experiences, an area that has received relatively less attention in the past. Based on the empirical evidence, we proposed a theoretical framework to conceptualise how different visual features can collectively influence taste perception. The review provides insights into the how design solutions can be configurated to shape taste expectations when working with visual features from different dimensions.
