What is it about?

This article examines the influence of Haitian state laws on the Catholic Church in Santo Domingo after both sides became unified as one state. In the past other scholars have presented this period as negative with the Church reforms being an example. My findings show that effects of these laws were provided unintended consequences that were not all negative.
