What is it about?

Atheism among Jews has not been much studied to date. It is not viewed as verydifferent from so-called Christian atheism, that is, non-belief in the Christian deity. It is also not adequately distinguished from Jewish secularism, despite its difference as intellectual engagement rather than social change. This survey offers a typology of Jewish atheism and considers some of the factors that have led to the neglect of the subject.
