What is it about?
This is a review of a book by Eckart Schütrumpf ('The Earliest Translations of Aristotle's Politics...etc.') which discusses Leonardo Bruni's opposition to the then prevailing methods for translating Aristotle, established two centuries earlier by William of Moerbeke. The review also discusses some wider issues of translation theory.
