What is it about?
This study describes the origin of an unusual dialect of Mandarin Chinese, the grammar (e.g. word order) of which resembles Mongolic/Tibetan more than Standard Mandarin. The dialect is seen to have emerged in a creolization scenario similar to that found for some European creoles.
