What is it about?
The anthropocene is a word reflecting the array of ways humankind is impacting the health of the planet. In this article I assert that the anthropocene is also a modern-day symbol, in the ways Carl Gustav Jung used that term.

Why is it important?
This article contributes to our understanding of how Jungian concepts can be valuable outside the clinical setting. It also shows how Jungian ideas can enhance our understanding of the pressing challenges facing us in the anthropocene era.
Perspectives
This article is my first attempt at combining my interests in analytical psychology and climate change. I hope it is the first of many ways to bring insights of analytical psychology to non-clinical audiences.
