What is it about?
The article is concerning the case of Polish merchant vessel M/S Józef Conrad which was caught in the crossfire during the so-called Christmas bombing of the North Vietnam by the US air power in December 1972. M/S Józef Conrad was dispatched with cargo mission to North Vietnam in 1972, and despite American blockade of the Haiphong port, remained in that port until the fatal bombardment of the ship, during the Linebacker I air campaign. The article present the circumstances of the bombardment and review them in the light of the law of air warfare.
