Why is it important?
The direct and indirect references to an interest in reaching the Mediterranean opens up a new scenario for Shah Abbas's international policy that needs to be studied and analysed.
Perspectives
Writing this article has opened up a perspective on Shah Abbas that I didn't think could have happened. The beginning of this research is a challenge as I have had to play with mostly indirect references to reconstruct this line of research.
