What is it about?
In many denominations today, it is the church itself that sets the official liturgical texts. In the 16th century, this was partly different. The church itself set texts, but in addition other influences existed. This article describes the most important ones as far as the Reformed liturgy in the Low Countries is concerned. There are some individuals such as Petrus Dathenus (1531-1588) and Gasparus van der Heyden (1530-1586) who left a large mark on the Reformed liturgy, but also the printers had their preferences.
