What is it about?
There are a number of critiques of Reformed church life in a secular age. Those from high church backgrounds sometimes see Reformed churches as individualistic and overly 'spiritualistic,' without a robust tradition or liturgy. Those from low-church or missional backgrounds see Reformed churches as overly traditional and inflexible. Yet, there are surprising missional resources within a Reformed vision of the church for a modern, secular context. I identify some of these resources in dialogue with the Reformer John Calvin and some complimentary modern voices (such as Karl Barth, John Webster, and Christoph Schwöbel).
