What is it about?

This article is about litigation as a strategy to address human rights violations happening on the Central Mediterranean migration route, i.e. from Libya to Italy. In the article, the authors first describe what European countries do and the human rights violations that ensue. They then give an overview of the legal actions that have been started by NGOs, lawyers and other actors to address these violations. Lastly, the authors analyze these legal actions and their potential to bring those accountable to justice.
