What is it about?
The earliest celebration in Europe of the conquest of Jerusalem by the Crusaders in 1099 took place in Milan in 1110. Returning crusaders from Jerusalem participated in dedicating a church by the name 'Church of the Holy Sepulcher' and started an annual feast in commemoration of the triumph.
