What is it about?
This paper investigates how Abraham Kuyper and some of his heirs today at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam have addressed the doctrine of creation in light of the challenges posed by evolutionary scientific theory. _x000D_ _x000D_ The author makes a case that many of Kuyper’s heirs at VU have continued his legacy by challenging the "worldview character" of evolution (evolutionism) but also taken a new direction by developing an evolutionary creationist approach. In other words, they conclude that there is no radical incompatibility between Christian faith and evolutionary science._x000D_ _x000D_ In a nutshell, Christian interaction with evolutionary science must take into account the limits of science, the necessary distinctions between evolution theory and worldview, the historical drama of redemption, and human dignity._x000D_ _x000D_ Whatever stance Christians take in this creation-evolution discussion, the author recommends Kuyper and his followers as good examples to guide us in the process._x000D_ _x000D_
