What is it about?

Neo-Luddism, the successor of Luddism, peacefully opposes technology’s harmful effects. This study evaluates the role Neo-Luddites can play in countering technology’s consequences. These efforts can raise awareness of technology’s adverse effects, build pressure on social policies, and shape society’s view of technology.

Why is it important?

Technological advances are adopted by people regardless of what they lead. In this way, it had the chance to touch the brains of each of its users. While providing this, it found a place between the beneficial and the harmful. However, it is not possible to state that technology will advance human life in any case. Neo-Luddites are resisting the effects of technology in an era when tablets can be bought for $50. They're not widely supported, though. Apart from that, they're divided into different groups with different perceptions and methods. These contrasts between groups damage Neo-Luddites' perception and weaken their chances of success. To succeed, Neo-Luddites need to emphasize the political aspect of technology, inform people about how technology affects them, establish an identity, reduce contact with fundamentalists, and decide their path.
