What is it about?
Ostracods are small bivalved crustaceans which abound in all types of aquatic, and even (semi-) terrestrial, environments. Here, we described a new species Pseudocypretta franki n.sp.from the largest inland lake in South Africa, Lake Sibaya. The genus Pseudocypretta used to be known only from South East Asia. Recently, species of this genus have also been discovered from India, China and South America. Now we also add a species from the African continent.
