What is it about?

Here the effect of rain and wind on performance of individually-tracked birds during breeding season is analysed. Our results suggest that rainfall and wind make gulls to exploit a smaller foraging area, travelling shorter distances and spending more time in the colony, as well as making less trips to the sea. If higher number of extreme bad weather events occur in the future, the impact on foraging activity could be reflected on reproduction and hence, on population dynamics.
