Phylogenetic relationships of the West African mud turtle (Pelusios castaneus) on the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe, West Central Africa

What is it about?

We used molecular methods to invesitgate the geographical origin of the populations of West African mud turtle in São Tomé and Príncipe, West Central Africa. Our results indicate several independent colonization events from different parts of the African continent (Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and Congo).
