What is it about?
A series of protests took place in the Middle East in 2011 and subsequently became known as the Arab Spring. Not everyone, however, was on board with the protests, including influential Muslim religious scholars in Egypt. This paper examines statements made by those scholars during this turbulent political moment and gauges lay youths' reactions to the statements.
