What is it about?
A description of how I approached teaching a mix of international and local students in Tania Bruguera's workshop at the Instituto Superior de Artes in Havana in 2004, and what I experienced in what was my second visit to the island, this time not as a tourist but as a teacher.

Why is it important?
The essay is a very personal blend of what I was doing and what I was experiencing, as an artist and teacher, and how my perspectives on Cuba were evolving in that process.
Perspectives
This visit was the instigation for a later project, What Is It Worth? which I also wrote about in another publication.
