What is it about?
We introduce and analyse two metrics to quantify the level of selection pressure. Both metrics are straightforward to implement and can be used to analyse evolution and to inform parameter control mechanisms during the evolutionary process.

Why is it important?
Being able to assess the amount of selection pressure is key to understanding how evolution proceeds in any evolutionary system. Metrics of selection pressure can enable intelligent parameter control in artificial evolutionary systems
