What is it about?

TouchNoise is a multitouch interface for creative work with music and noise. It allows the direct and indirect manipulation of so-called sound particles in a visual way, which in their interplay generate various rich sounds. With this touch interface, novel possibilities for the creation and modulation of noise and harmonic spectra are supported. This article gives a comprehensive overview of the final TouchNoise concept and system after three years of development. The unique sonic capabilities it offers differ considerably from traditional sound synthesizers.
