What is it about?

The ischemia-reperfusion injury occurs after ischemic multiple organs injury including the brain, kidney, and cardiopulmonary. Various abnormal physiological reactions such as mitochondrial dysfunction, production of reactive oxygen species, induction of various inflammatory reactions, and disruption of hormonal balance occur, and many patients have a poor outcome due to these vicious cycles. We focused on the mechanism of ischemia-reperfusion injury and the role of hyperoxia, and how these can be applied to real-world clinical treatment.
