50 single dental extraction were performed in maxilla: patient's alveolar site had to have a buccal bone loss in order to be included in the study. A three dimensional radiological examination was performed before the extraction and at 3 months postoperative. Alveolar bone levels were measured in bucco-palatal width and apico-coronal length

Statistically significant difference was appreciated before extraction and after 3 months. Buccal plate gain was evident both in single and multiple rooted teeth
Perspectives
Working on this article gave me the chance to understand buccal plate recontouring. Such event is essential in case of dental implants placement, as the buccal wall suffers most from bone resorption
